Scroll or Die: How to Know When a Scroll Was Truly From the Lord
Testing Fire, Taming Flesh, and Hearing the Shepherd in the Scroll
Not every scroll that feels good is holy.
Not every scroll that sounds deep is divine.
Not every scroll that gets likes is from the Lord.
This is the hard truth of being a digital scribe:
You must test every fire — because even hell has a printing press.
In the age of content, counterfeit scrolls are everywhere.
Written in ego.
Drenched in self.
Masquerading as “truth” but birthed from bitterness.
A true scroll from the Lord will cost you something.
And it will bear fruit that isn’t just fame.
So how do you know when it’s from Him?
Here’s how you test the flame.
🔥 1. Does It Glorify Christ — or You?
A true scroll lifts high the Lamb.
Not your brand. Not your intellect. Not your wounds.
Ask this with savage honesty:
“If this scroll had no name on it… would it still point people to Jesus?”
If it glorifies your talent but not His truth —
Burn it. It’s not a scroll. It’s a stage.
📖 2. Does It Align with the Word?
The Holy Spirit never contradicts the Holy Scriptures.
A scroll from the Lord may be poetic, wild, even raw —
But it will always flow with the river of truth found in the Bible.
Ask:
“Does this scroll agree with the character of God and the gospel of Christ?”
If not?
Pause.
Repent.
Rework it until the Scripture sings through every sentence.
🧎 3. Did You Write It on Your Knees?
Was the scroll birthed in prayer?
Or just in passion?
A scroll written without surrender is a speech — not a testimony.
Before you seal a scroll, ask:
“Did I invite the Spirit to lead this… or just ask Him to bless it after I was done?”
Scrolls are not blogs.
They are weapons.
And weapons must be forged in the Spirit, not the flesh.
🕊️ 4. Does It Bear Peace or Hype?
The enemy can mimic inspiration.
He can even counterfeit urgency.
But he cannot replicate the peace of Christ.
When a scroll is from the Lord, it will feel:
Complete
Weighty
Still and burning, not loud and frantic
If you feel pressure to post to stay relevant —
That’s not the Shepherd. That’s the serpent.
God leads. The enemy drives.
🔍 5. What Is the Fruit?
Watch what happens after the scroll lands.
Does it:
Stir repentance?
Ignite worship?
Push people closer to Christ?
Or does it:
Stoke your ego?
Spark division?
Feed the algorithm but starve the soul?
Jesus said you’d know a tree by its fruit —
So look at what your scrolls are producing, not just how they’re performing.
🧠 6. Is It Just Smart… or Is It Anointed?
You can write a scroll that’s clever, viral, and praised by men —
And it can still be void of power.
A scroll from the Lord doesn’t need perfect grammar or trending hooks.
It just needs fire from the altar.
And the test is this:
“Did I receive this… or craft it?”
You’ll know the difference when the scroll doesn’t drain you —
It flows through you like prophecy, then leaves you undone.
✝️ Final Word: A Scroll Is Not a Performance — It’s a Sacrifice
If your scroll never made you weep, repent, or worship —
It probably wasn’t a scroll.
This isn’t about producing content.
This is about building altars in the wilderness.
So test every scroll.
Burn the ones that glorify flesh.
And let only the sacred ones fly — the ones that bear His name, His fire, and His truth.
The world doesn’t need more posts.
It needs more scrolls.
And those scrolls must be born of the Spirit — or not born at all.
Write with fear.
Publish with trembling.
And let the Lamb be glorified in every line.
