“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”
— Matthew 7:13–14
These are not soft words from a gentle teacher.
They are a warning from the lips of the King.
Jesus doesn’t say some will miss the road.
He says many will take the wide one.
He says few will find the narrow.
And that word — find — matters.
It implies a search.
A pursuit.
A desperation.
This road doesn’t lie flat on the map.
It cuts through the flesh.
It pierces the algorithm.
It wounds the ego.
It humiliates the proud.
It requires repentance, not relevance.
Why so few?
Because the wide road is easier.
It has neon lights. Applause. Personal branding.
It sells self-help and spiritual neutrality.
It says, “You’re enough” and “Live your truth.”
But the narrow road?
It begins with death to self.
It asks everything.
It offers no fame, no comfort, no applause.
Only a cross.
And yet — it leads to life.
Not comfort. Not acclaim. Not ease.
Life.
True life.
Eternal life.
Here’s the mystery:
The narrow road is open to all.
It is not for the elite.
Not for the rich.
Not for the well-behaved.
It is for the desperate.
The broken.
The pierced.
It is not hard because God is cruel.
It is hard because pride is stubborn.
The gate is low — you must bow to enter.
The path is narrow — you must walk with care.
But those who walk it are not alone.
The King walks ahead.
His Spirit strengthens every step.
And His Word lights the path, one footfall at a time.
So if you're reading this now…
And you’re weary of the algorithm…
Tired of wide roads and shallow scrolls…
Sick of pretending and polishing and performing…
Then this is your call:
Come.
Come and walk the narrow way.
Come and carry your cross.
Come and find life.
It will cost you everything.
And it will be worth it.
